Lifesize have started shipping Lifesize Desktop, a high quality HD video conference client for PCs which works with standard webcams. Lifesize Desktop provides 720p high definition videoconferencing at 30 frames per second. It is able to operate asymmetrically, independently optimising transmit and recieve quality to the bandwidth available, and is highly CPU efficient enabling PC users to simultaneously run video conferencing and other applications.
